There are many funny ways to learn and improve your English. One method I like very much is to work with songs.
Working like that, you will enjoy and improve your 4 basic skills: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. By the way, you will learn new vocabulary and sentences.
Why is it So Good To Work Your English With Songs?
Working with songs is a good idea because you work with a material (your favourite songs) that you like and enjoy. This fact will make the process of learning more pleasant for you.
You can work and improve all four basic skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing) and enjoy your favourite songs.
You can work with songs by different bands and artists, and then you will work with different accents (UK accent, US accent…).
How I Work With Songs?
I want to underline that I only work with songs which I like. Do not waste a single second of your precious time on a song that you do not like. There are thousands and thousands of songs waiting for you out there.
Here are the 7 steps you can use while working with a song:
1. You choose a song that you REALLY like.
2. You listen to the song as many times as needed.
3. You transcribe the lyrics of the song.
4. You read ALOUD the lyrics of the song.
5. You memorize the lyrics of the song.
6. You recite ALOUD the lyrics of the song.
7. You sing along with the song.
You can follow these 7 steps, and then you will work on all 4 basic skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing).
You can also start on any step you like and avoid the others.
For example, if you only want to work on your speaking skills, then avoid steps 2 and 3. You can look up the lyrics on the Internet, and then go directly to step 4.
