5 different options to improve your speaking level with a native English speaker

If you want to improve your English speaking skills, my first option would be to work with a native English speaker as much as possible.

As a native English speaker helps to improve your English, what will you give them back in exchange?

Like most things in life, you are going to make an exchange to improve your English. It is just a deal between two people.

Let’s see the different options you have if you want to improve your English.

1) Your Money in Exchange for Their English.

It is when you pay someone to help you to improve your speaking skills. It can be a professional teacher or just a native English speaker who is looking for money.

Pros:
– Because you pay, you can look for a partner who suits your needs.
-You decide what you want to work and how often.

Cons:
-Obviously, you have to spend money.
-If you want to work together very often it can be expensive.

2) Your Native Language in Exchange for Their English

It is when you do a language exchange. You help your partner to learn your native tongue, while in return, your partner helps you to improve your English.

Pros:
-It is free.
-It is a rewarding experience because you are both a teacher and a student.

Cons:
-You are not going to work your English all the time. You will work in your native tongue, helping your partner half the time.

3) Your Expertise in Exchange for Their English

It is when you are a master in something. You help a native English speaker with your expertise while, at the same time, they teach you English.

As an example,  maybe you are a master in:

Playing guitar
Cooking
Drawing
Skating
Playing tennis

Pros:
-It is free.
-You enjoy teaching what you master.

Cons:
-You must find a native English speaker interested in learning what you master.

4) You Share An Interest Or Hobby With An English Native

It is when you find a native English speaker who loves a topic or hobby like you.
Then, you funnel your friendship through that common interest using English.
We assume that your English partner does not mind if your English speaking level is anything but perfect.

Pros:
-It is free.
-You enjoy and never get tired of talking about your passion or hobby.

Cons:
-You must find a native English speaker also interested in your passion or hobby.

5) You Share A Genuine Friendship With An English Native

Here it is just friendship. Your friend doesn’t mind about your English level.
You enjoy a genuine friend whilelearning and improving your English.
You can talk about anything and everything like with your current friends.

Pros:
-A friend is always a treasure.
-It is free.

Cons:
-You must to prioritize friendship over your English needs because you don’t want to “use” a friend.

All five options are perfect for learning and improving your English.
You have to pick up the one that fits you best!!!
